Arts come alive at festival time in Adur
Help celebrate 18 years of the Adur Festival

2005 Festival brochure cover (Cover image from an original by Karen Munck)I'd like to welcome you to the Adur Festival 2005 - and to invite you to help us celebrate our 18th birthday by joining in with two whole weeks of varied and colourful community based arts events.

This year we have a typically unpredictable festival which
I hope will intrigue and provoke. The Airport, Marquee, Southwick Barn and Lancing events are once again complemented by a huge rosta of community organised activities.

We also have a new friend's scheme offering discounted tickets and social activities, and we're pleased to welcome yet more new sponsors.

I first played at the festival in 1992 and grew to love the spirit of the area. My experience of other festivals throughout Europe in no way prepared me for the wonderfully strange and creative chemistry of Adur. Now, as Chairman of the Steering Group, my particular wish for Festival 05 is that more Adur residents come and join in.

Thankfully, as our sponsors realise, our catchment area is growing along with our reputation and many of our shows will sell out straight away. But its important to all of us that yet more people from our local community are there to join in, to enjoy the events, even to help create next year's festival and to keep the two week long party going this June!
